Hockey programs spend a great deal of time teaching individual and team skills on the ice. What most hockey programs overlook is the mental and emotional development…the traits that build the internal strength to take charge and lead the way. That is why I have created Hockey Leadership Academy.
The Academy was designed to address this significant impediment to success for young hockey players and their families. Hockey Leadership Academy will help players (at all levels) to build self-confidence and develop a belief system crucial for any successful amateur or pro athlete.
Hockey Leadership Academy is developed from my real life experiences. I was fortunate enough to be a first round draft choice of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and be a member of Canada's World Championship winning team. My success was as much driven by the mental side of my game as the physical side.
Throughout my entire career of being on winning teams, being placed in challenging situations as a player and dealing with the so called "top" agents in the business, no programs provided a combined focus on both the “physical” on-ice development and the “emotional” development of young hockey players and their families – from a professional who has been there and experienced it all from a player perspective.
I have experienced what it is like to be in the top 1% in the world in my field. I have studied and continue to learn how to help educate families with their experience in youth hockey, and have come to realize that there's a significant gap in the education of the successful athlete. Hockey Leadership Academy is designed to eliminate that gap, helping bring your child's vision to reality.
